Tailoring: Netherweave Bags

Saturday, February 27, 2010 Posted by Typhon

So, tailors want a decent gold maker too? One of the best ways for a tailor to make, while not huge amounts of gold, at least be a nice income for buying whatever you might need. You won't hit the gold cap doing it, but you will be able to support your raid or PvP needs.

Netherweave Bags, can be sold from anywhere between 10-15 gold, depending on the server. How do you make these bags?

Buy up Netherweave Cloth from the auction house. you can make exactly one bag, from one stack of cloth. Usually Netherweave Cloth stacks sell for around 6-8 gold on the auction house.

See where i am going with this? All you have to do is buy up all the stacks of Netherweave Cloth you need, and buy a single Rune Thread for each bag, that cost only 50s from a vendor.

Doing this alone one can make a decent 50% profit for the amount of gold they spend.

HOWEVER:, care should be taken not to flood the market because people buy the Netherweave Bags for alts, being that a 16 slot bag is actually a pretty good size, and the next one up, often sells for 60 or more gold, which is quite a bit for someone leveling an alt. This is why you should not flood the market with them. People only need so many bags (just 4), for each alt. So never put up more then 4-8 bags and take care not to flood the market. Doing so could cause people to undercut and will cause a chain reaction, lowering the value of the bags below that of the cloth (because the supply will be much greater than the demand).

So, in closing, be careful with how many bags you sell at a time on the Auction House, in fact, this should be true for any good you might be selling. DO NOT flood your market. Again, however, flooding the market could be useful for different reasons, reasons which we shall discuss at a later date.

Speculation: Frozen Orbs

BUY! BUY! BUY!

According the PTR patch notes the following will happen.

I'm sure some of you noticed this in the 3.3.3 PTR patch notes:

* Frozo the Renowned has moved into the Dalaran Magus Commerce Exchange and will be trading your Frozen Orbs for various other trade goods.

For those curious, here are the items for which you can trade your Frozen Orbs to Frozo. These each cost 1 Frozen Orb unless noted otherwise in parentheses:

* Crusader Orb (6)
* Runed Orb (4)
* Eternal Fire
* Eternal Earth
* Eternal Water
* Eternal Air
* Eternal Life
* Eternal Shadow
* Frost Lotus
* Pattern: Frosty Flying Carpet [Tailors Only] (6)

What does this mean? The price of Frozen Orbs is going to SKYROCKET!!! Buy Every single Frozen Orbs you can. I expect the orbs to sell post-patch for around 20-30g. And even if they don't, you can easily cash in on exchanging them for other things. Frost Lotus usually sells very well.

Granted, after the post-patch frenzy which will last a day or 2. The price of Frozen Orbs and the trade ins will equalize to be around the same price, i expect it will all equalize around 20-25 gold.

Remember, when buying don't pay more than 10-15 gold (varies by server) for your Frozen Orbs, you don't want to miss out on this opportunity to cash in, but you also should use caution.

Jewelcrafting: The Saronite Shuffle

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Posted by Typhon

Yes that's right, the first method i will discuss on this site is.... The Saronite Shuffle. If you have no idea what i am talking about, then you should definitely read up. The Saronite shuffle is one of the best methods to make gold in the World of Warcraft. Now, i know those of you who actually USE/USED the Saronite shuffle, will say, "but they made it worthless by making Saronite used for titanium more often and with the enchanting/dungeon finder tool." Well, it still makes me 30-40% of the gold that i spend on it in pure profit. So i would say it works just fine.

So, now then. What is the Saronite shuffle?

The purpose of the Saronite Shuffle is to, effectively, create blue gems at no cost to the user.

What does the Saronite Shuffle Require?

A High level Jewelcrafter
A High level Enchanter

How exactly does this work you ask?

Well I'll tell you. Before i get into, when you should buy and how much should you buy for, I'll just go through the simple layout of the shuffle.

1. You buy Saronite Ore off of the Auction House, or from a farmer, or a guildmate or whatever.

2. Prospect all of the Saronite Ore that you buy. The result will be a large amount of green gems and some blue gems. Bank the blues, because those are pure profit.

3. Now, we are going to take 4 out of the 6 types of gems you get, and make something from them.

4. Count up your Bloodstones, Sun Crystals, Chalcedonys, and Huge Citrines

5. For each 5 of any of the gems you have, buy one Eternal Earth

6. Craft your Bloodstones into Bloodstone Bands

7. Craft your Sun Crystals into Sun Rock Rings

8. Craft your Chalcedonys into Crystal Chalcedony Amulets

9. Craft your Huge Citrines into Crystal Citrine Necklaces

10. After you have done that, disenchant them. The result will be a large amount of Infinite Dust, Lesser Cosmic Essences and Small Dream Shards. Sell these

11. Take your Dark Jades and Shadow Crystals and sell them *****HOWEVER*****, if these two gems are selling for less than one gold on the auction house, i recommend cutting them, then selling them. Make sure you do the quest for perfect gems.

12. After this, you should have made your gold back from buying the Saronite Ore and the Eternal Earths just from your green gems alone. So what does that mean. You have a few stacks of Blue gems you just created out of thin air. Do what you want with them.

Now then. The next question you ask is. How do you know what prices to buy and sell at? When will you make gold doing this, and when will you lose gold? Surely you don't want all of your precious World of Warcraft gold going down the drain simply because you made a mistake.

Well, there is an easy way at fixing that as well. Spreadsheets. You can find one HERE, for the most part it is pretty self explanatory, but if you need any help making it work, post a comment or send me an Email.

Something to keep in mind, when using this spreadsheet. If you find that Saronite Ore is too expensive, you can always just buy the gems from the Auction House straight out, and go from there, sometimes that can make some decent gold as well. The spreadsheet also has a function for that as well.
